NCBL denounces the fatal hate crime committed by Chicago police officer Jason Van Dyke against 17-year old LaQuan McDonald on October 20, 2014. NCBL further denounces the investigative misconduct, prosecutorial delay and political obfuscation that occurred following LaQuan McDonald’s murder; such tactics are a crime against the public interest and longstanding international human rights principles.
