The 47th Annual NCBL Conference – Registration
Through this, our 47th Annual Conference, marking 48 years in service to our people, the National Conference of Black Lawyers (NCBL) seeks to answer the urgent call-to-action for freedom fighters to move forward together as a united front in these current–most desperate times. We recognize as do so many others that Black lives will only truly matter as they ought, and must, when every African descendant uses the tools at their disposal to forge a bold new paradigm. This new reality–effectively confronting the genocide we see raging across the U.S. and everywhere in the world that Black people exist (everywhere)–will succeed. We who believe in Freedom cannot rest until it is won.
This year, the NCBL Annual Conference returns to Chicago, October 6-9, 2016! NCBL has always recognized that this fight for the liberation of our people must be waged from courtrooms to boardrooms, from the schoolhouse to the jailhouse, and most importantly with the input and partnership of our community. We stand with the courageous Black youth and elders alike who are rejecting systems of oppression and reflecting self-determined remedies for the power and resource imbalance that sustains the elite few on the backs of the many. Our convening this year in Chicago, arguably the epicenter of this struggle, brings together some of the top legal minds, scholars, activists and artists to elevate the discussion, strategies, and actions in The International Decade for People of African Descent. Its pillars of Recognition, Justice, and Development will guide our conference sessions and outcomes using the global human rights frame as we escalate our fight for the liberation of our people…and bring human rights home.
